Boom Beach HQ25 Last Day of Halloween Mega Crab

Today is the last day of the Halloween Mega Crab. This probably is my least favorite of the Mega Crabs just because the Scary Mortars suck hard and force you to waste even more GBE to get rid of them as they cause chaos to your forces. But at least I have two max level Weapon Labs as a result of doing these.

Quite frankly, I didn’t want to push too hard on this Mega Crab. I had two accounts to handle and only one Building Plan between them to use for rushing completion of a single building. While my Everspark completed her level 16 upgrades on both accounts, I did spend Diamonds rushing the completion of my Tanks to level 20. I could feel some difference but overall these upgrades are pretty mediocre in the scheme of things compared to having say another Landing Craft where I would add Grenadiers to help clear out Mines and thus save GBE while using some other Hero besides Everspark.

I will say that I was happy to get my 4th Prototype Defense (or rather starting to build one) in preparation for tomorrow’s Hammerman Strikes Back event for my secondary account. I chose a Damage Amplifier since I could not grab another Hot Pot (only have one up now) in addition to the aforementioned Hot Pot, Doom Cannon and Shock Blaster. The plan will be to the Damage Amplifier in conjunction with a cluster of Rocket Launchers which should make short work of pesky Bombardiers, Grenadiers, etc. that usually can whittle my base down on stage 6 or 7.

For my main account, I ended up stopping at stage 22 on Mega Crab. I saw the layout with all the various Cannons, Launchers, etc. and just lost motivation. I did score up more resources in preparation for a Rocket Launcher upgrade this week. But on my secondary account, once I got enough resources, I ended up stopping. I just felt burnt out and didn’t care enough to move on. Since I have an appointment later, my mind has been elsewhere. I did rush an upgrade for my Critters, which I started on both accounts, but only for my main account. Afterwards, I put the rest of the gold into Scorchers. But pretty much I used quite a bit of Diamonds on my main account and will be slowly working my way back up.

One thing I didn’t do was open any Trader Tickets this week. I felt that it would be a gratuitous gesture since I already have the resources from the Mega Crab. Perhaps, this coming week I’ll start opening them up in case I run a bit dry. But overall, I prefer just saving them up until I really need them.

The other major thing coming up is the next Warships season. Season 28 Tanks they’re calling it. I’ve seen the tech tree and I saw a video where The Chicken talked about his plan of doing Heavy rush for a while. But I think he’s dead wrong. Instead, my plan is to use a combination of tank types with the normal ones, cryo tank and critter tank with 1-2 boats of Medics or Kavan. The reason for this type of layout is that Critter tanks are great for their long distance while Cryo Tanks can CC defenses. I imagine that with two boats of Critter tanks, you can distract a lot of defenses as well as ignore pesky Boom and Shock Mines. So if I can get to Tanks and max them out early then the advantage there isn’t so much beating opponents quickly but not having to deal with troop reloads. For a player with Instant Training, tanks might seem worthless but for people without Instant Training, tanks look great.

In turn, I think what will happen is probably maxing out my Landing Craft early, taking up GBE, since you need it to deploy tanks and trying to grab and max out Tanks early. It’ll feel slow but there’s few defenses that can handle Tanks in the early stages. And once you get Medics, they’ll be impossible to beat until defenses like Grapplers, Doom Cannons, Shock Launchers and Boom Cannons start to make their appearance.
