Diablo 4: Started Leveling A Sorcerer

As a way to get my mind away from certain depressing issues, I decided to level up a Sorcerer. There’s a few builds on my list that I’d like to try out one being a Chain Lightning build. Obviously, after playing the super awesome Lightning Spear/Frozen Orb build from last season, I’m going to be disappointed especially with my Spiritborn character being incredible. Nonetheless, I wanted to at least check out a Sorcerer of some kind and muck around until I found a build that felt decent to play.

In all likelihood given how non-Spiritborn are performing this season, I’ll probably just take my new Sorcerer into Torment II and see how effective she performs. But I don’t expect to get her into Torment IV just because gearing might be a bit painful and I honestly don’t want to grind Pits to level up glyphs anymore than I have to. Right now, I’m focused on Chain Lightning as there’s some interesting changes from previous seasons that I did not have the opportunity to try out and I want to see how it performs on its own. The main thing I’m missing (outside of Ancestral gear and higher level Aspects) is the Axial Conduit pants. As those are found from Grigoire, I’m sure I should be able to obtain them in Torment I. If not there, then I’ll try to save my Obols and gamble for them once I hit level 60.

Along my journey, I ended up taking my Spiritborn out to farm ladder bosses. The main goal was to try and obtain a Ring of Starless Skies. I managed to get quite a few mythics along the way including a Shroud of False Death. When I got down to my last two Duriel runs, I successfully secured a two GA Ring of Starless Skies that has the correct GA on Attack Speed. So that made me incredibly happy. Also, by getting the ring, I can eventually give the Mythic version of my Boulder Druid a try. Perhaps with those items, my Boulder Druid might feel better in terms of overall damage as he’s currently performing in a mediocre manner in Torment III.

That said, I’m going to take a break from my Druid just to continue playing with my new toy. I know Chain Lightning isn’t apparently the best build for Sorcerer but I want to see just how far I can take her. Also, if Chain Lightning proves underwhelming, I can always swap to Lightning Spear or Fireball. I did read that Lightning Spear/Frozen Orb can still do decently but you top out with the number of conjurations. From what I can tell Fireball is probably the easier build to gear and I can probably just gamble the gloves and do some quick runs on Varshan for the staff and a better Tal Rasha ring.

This probably will be my final character of this season. Unless something drastic changes with the mid-season update, I don’t see myself playing for that much longer.
